Mini Choppers

If you love the super pocket bikes than you are going to love the mini chopper even more. These are a scaled down version of the Chopper motorcycles that you know and love and would hope some day to get your hands on. However, until that time comes you can make do with this version of it.

These are designed with 1” steel tubing or ¾” steel black pipe that is bent and then welded together in order to bring together the shape of the frame. More often than not these have been custom made just like the average sized versions that we see on television all the time.

What makes these so unique and different is that they are built with custom parts. Nearly every one that you buy is going to have a custom frame that is unique to each dealer that you purchase from and could be built with various parts on the inside that you would least expect to see. They are more expensive – but for some of us it is well worth the price.

Engine And Transmission

These models can use different types of engines depending on who you purchase it from. Although most companies prefer to use the Tecumseh horizontal shaft industrial engines with a non tapered shaft. The more affordable models will make use of the smaller motorcycle, ATV, and dirt bike engines.

When an industrial engine is being used the transmission will need to be built into the rear wheel. It will also require centrifugal clutches that helps the engine to idle without the mini chopper being in motion. You can also choose the fixed gear ratio to offer both a lower and higher speed operation.

Most mini chopper models are equipped with moped rims and tires on the front and large pneumatic tires that are in the rear. The live axle is the most common thing to use because it is a simple setup that people are able to work with and it is easier for them to have to replace any parts that brake.
