Most people prefer to drive around on the gas pocket bikes. These are actually easier to handle than the electric models and they are able to reach higher speeds in a shorter amount of time. These make racing both easier and more fun for all of the drivers that are involved. You also do not have to worry about it stopping suddenly. Unless of course you forgot to put gas in it!
Most models are going to be able to reach between 20 to 40 miles per hour. Obviously the more expensive the model is the higher the speed will be. 40 mph might not sound like a lot – but when you are on something that small it can seem like a lot. Make sure to wear the necessary safety gear.
These were first created during the 1950’s by people who would make use of the spare parts that they had in their garage. These people would race their bikes in pit lines or dirt tracks. The more sophisticated models were built by the Japanese and at the time cost around $4,000 each. Now you can buy one for as little as $150.
Fuel
It is important to know what type of fuel these run on. This can be tricky for many people who think that just any type of fuel will be fine to use inside of it. In order to keep the bike running smoothly you need to use high octane unleaded gasoline. Racing fuel is what most people will think to use – but this will actually cause a great deal of mechanical problems.
You can also use motorcycle oil or mix the two oils together. It is possible that the mix oil might work better for the bike that you have. Just make sure that you are mixing it correctly. This is not difficult to learn and most dealerships that you buy from will help you to know the right measurements for your model.
